The refurbishment of the Old Winchester Arms - a five storey Victorian building, in a Conservation Area. The Project will promote, both through the building works and future related educational programmes, a sustainable environment and building, aiming for BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating. The project works will consist of the repair the external shell of the building, including the roof, and restore it to its original condition, the update and upgrade of the fabric and the Mechanical & Electrical services and utilities, in a holistic, sustainable manner, including the use of renewable energy forms, and bio-mass heating; the re-development of the building to provide modern accommodation to suit the projected future use of the building by young people.
